Flame up on Bauer's Blog

Yes, I read Michael Bauer's blog.

No, I have never and probably won't ever comment on it.

Holy Schnikies, did cocktail culture catch some flames on the most recent post

What's bizarre is he made a perfectly reasonable & constructive suggestion: give each guest a cocktail menu. Ah well, SFgate commenters are by & large a pack of baying hounds anyhow. ;)

MetaGrrl: agreed. I love the Internets. It allows people to anonymously be assholes in ways that would earn them a bloody nose in person.

thanks for the suggested reading, Neyah! so entertaining! MB needs to complain or he's out of a job. servers can never know what each customer wants, so they have to just try their best. and customers do need to speak up as to their expectations and preferences. when it comes to drinks, there is no one size fits all...

Re: "Complain or he's out of a job", no foolin'. If he didn't bitch, everyone would say he was just a suck up and it was like an advertising section.

One advantage we have with Bibulo.us is we don't worry about readership numbers. We're writing for the pleasure of sharing what we've learned, what we like, and what we think could be better. Drawing a big audience is not part of the driving motivation. This is why I'm a blogger, not a newspaper columnist. ;)

i like to check Bibulo.us often but wish you would post more frequently.

other than that, keep up the great work!

Thanks! The infrequency is a side effect of not working in the industry, I fear, but an appreciative audience is an inspiration, so we'll have to get cracking for you!

(Neyah, isn't great how blog comments can be like hosting a party and people just get talking in your house? :) )
